TECHNOLOGY DELIVERY & TEAMS

From a defined problem to working technology.

Bring us an outcome to deliver end-to-end, or add the specialist capability your existing team needs. We assemble the right product, engineering, data, QA and delivery capability around the work.

01 — THE PROBLEM

When the strategy is clear, but delivery capacity isn't.

The decisions are made and the roadmap is agreed. What is missing is the capability to build it at the pace the business expected.

01

Roadmap agreed, capacity short

Commitments were set on an assumption about engineering availability that did not hold.

02

A specialist capability is missing

One role — data engineering, integration, QA automation, senior product — is the constraint on everything behind it.

03

Legacy systems slow everything down

Every change costs more than it should, and the modernisation work never reaches the top of the list.

04

Integrations block the improvement

The customer or operational change depends on systems that were never designed to talk to each other.

05

A defined outcome needs one owner

The work spans teams and vendors, and nobody is accountable for the result end to end.

SOUND FAMILIAR?

Two or more of these usually means capacity or accountability, not effort

Bring one specific example to a discovery call and we will tell you what we would look at first.

02 — WHO IT IS FOR

Built for leaders who need to deliver, now.

Technology and product leaders who need to deliver a defined solution, increase delivery capacity, or access specialist capability without permanently expanding the organisation.

  • Technology leaders with committed dates and insufficient capacity
  • Product leaders who need a defined outcome delivered end to end
  • Organisations modernising legacy platforms alongside business-as-usual delivery
  • Teams missing one specialist capability that is blocking the rest
  • Businesses that need capability for a period, not a permanent headcount increase
03 — WHAT WE DO

What we build.

The same solution capabilities are available under either engagement model. What changes is who is accountable for the outcome.

Custom software & platforms

PROJECT

Applications and platforms built for a defined business outcome — web, mobile and internal systems, with the operational and support view designed in.

  • Solution design and architecture
  • Full-stack build and release
  • Test automation and quality gates
  • Documentation and support handover

Business applications & integrations

PROJECT

Connecting the systems the business already runs on, so data moves once and processes stop depending on manual re-entry.

  • Integration design and API development
  • Business application configuration and extension
  • Data migration and reconciliation
  • Monitoring and error handling

Cloud & legacy modernisation

PROJECT

Reducing the cost and risk of ageing systems — sequenced so delivery continues while modernisation happens underneath it.

  • Modernisation assessment and sequencing
  • Cloud migration and re-platforming
  • Incremental decomposition of legacy systems
  • Cost, performance and resilience measures

Data & AI engineering

PROJECT

The pipelines, models and controls that turn a proven opportunity into something running reliably in production.

  • Data pipelines and platform engineering
  • Model deployment and monitoring
  • Quality, lineage and access controls
  • Production support requirements
CHOOSE HOW WE ENGAGE

Two engagement models. One capability.

The difference is who holds accountability for the outcome. The people, standards and delivery practices are the same either way.

MANAGED DELIVERY

We are accountable for the outcome

Mabot Labs takes accountability for delivering a defined technology outcome — from solution design through build, integration and release.

  • Defined scope, milestones and acceptance criteria
  • We assemble and manage the delivery team
  • One point of accountability for the result
  • Handover, documentation and support transition
FLEXIBLE TEAMS

You are accountable, we add capability

Add individual specialists or a complete cross-functional team around your existing delivery organisation, working to your plan and your governance.

  • Individual specialists or a full team
  • Embedded in your ceremonies and standards
  • Scales up and down as the roadmap changes
  • We stay connected to the delivery outcome, not just the placement

04 — HOW WE WORK

Define, assemble, deliver, transition.

The first week is about defining the outcome precisely enough to be accountable for it — or, for flexible teams, defining exactly which capability is missing.

STEP 1

Define

The outcome, the constraints, the acceptance criteria and the interfaces to your existing teams and systems.

STEP 2

Assemble

The right capability around the work — named people with relevant experience, sized to the outcome rather than to a bench.

STEP 3

Deliver

Working software in increments, with quality gates, visible progress and one point of accountability.

STEP 4

Transition / scale

Documentation, handover and support in place — or the team scales with the roadmap if the work continues.

05 — WHAT YOU GET

Tangible outputs.

  • Working, released software against agreed acceptance criteria
  • Solution design and architecture documentation
  • Test automation and quality gates in your pipeline
  • Integration and data migration artefacts
  • Support, monitoring and runbook handover
  • For flexible teams: named specialists embedded in your delivery cadence
OUTCOMES WE AIM AT

Changes you can point to.

Committed dates become deliverable

Capacity sized to the roadmap, added in weeks rather than a hiring cycle.

One accountability for the outcome

Under managed delivery, the result has a single owner across the whole scope.

Specialist gaps stop blocking the rest

The missing capability is filled without a permanent headcount decision.

Capability stays with your team

Documentation, standards and handover are part of the work, not an afterthought.

06 — ENGAGEMENT SHAPES

Three ways to start.

Fixed-scope delivery, phased engagements or ongoing embedded capability — depending on how well defined the outcome is and how long the capability is needed.

DEFINED OUTCOME

Fixed scope

A defined solution delivered end to end against agreed acceptance criteria, with Mabot Labs accountable for the result.

MANAGED DELIVERY
PHASED BUILD

Phased, per stage

Discovery and solution design first, then build in stages — each with its own decision point before the next is committed.

PHASED, PER STAGE
EMBEDDED CAPABILITY

Ongoing, part or full time

Specialists or a complete cross-functional team embedded in your delivery organisation, scaling with the roadmap.

Enterprise transformation. Measurable outcomes.

Our leadership has held product and transformation accountability inside ASX-listed, NYSE-listed and international organisations. 07 — QUESTIONS

Common questions.

What is the difference between Managed Delivery and Flexible Teams?

+

Accountability. Under Managed Delivery we own the outcome against agreed acceptance criteria. Under Flexible Teams you own the plan and we provide the capability to execute it. The people and standards are the same.

Is Flexible Teams a recruitment or contracting service?

+

No. We are not placing candidates and stepping away. We assemble capability around your delivery, stay connected to the outcome, and remain accountable for the quality of the work our people do.

How quickly can capability start?

+

Usually weeks rather than a hiring cycle, depending on the specialisation. We would rather tell you a role will take longer to fill well than put the wrong person on your delivery.

Where are your delivery people based?

+

Leadership is Sydney-based and stays local and accountable. Delivery capability is provided through our network, working in your time zone, as local, distributed or blended teams depending on what the work needs.

What happens at the end of a managed delivery engagement?

+

Documentation, runbooks, monitoring and a support transition are part of the scope. If you would rather we continued running it, that becomes an ongoing arrangement rather than an assumption.

Can you take over work another partner started?

+

Yes, and often we assess before committing — an honest read on the state of the codebase and the plan is usually the most valuable first piece of work.

NEXT STEP

Bring the outcome you need delivered.

Thirty minutes, no pitch deck. We will talk through whether you need accountability for an outcome or capability alongside your team, and what that would look like.
