STRATEGY & TRANSFORMATION

Turn transformation ambition into a plan that can actually be delivered.

We help leadership determine what needs to change, why it matters and what should happen first — connecting business outcomes, customer needs, operating model and technology into an executable transformation roadmap.

01 — THE PROBLEM

Signs your transformation needs more than another roadmap.

Ambition is rarely the problem. Sequencing, ownership and the link between investment and outcome usually are.

01

Too many initiatives, no clear priority

Everything is approved and underway. Nothing can be stopped, so the important work moves at the same speed as the rest.

02

Investment is not connected to outcomes

Technology spend is justified by capability rather than by the business number it is meant to move.

03

Transformation is organised around projects

Funding, governance and reporting follow projects, so value is measured on delivery of scope rather than change in performance.

04

Agreement on ambition, not on the path

Leadership shares the destination and disagrees on sequence, trade-offs and what gets sacrificed first.

05

Customer journeys nobody owns end to end

The experience spans systems, teams and vendors, each accountable for a fragment and none for the whole.

SOUND FAMILIAR?

Two or more of these usually means the plan, not the ambition

Bring one specific example to a discovery call and we will tell you what we would look at first.

02 — WHO IT IS FOR

Built for organisations partway into change.

Mid-market and enterprise organisations with real delivery commitments, multiple stakeholders and a transformation already under scrutiny — where stopping and re-planning carries genuine cost.

  • Executives accountable for a digital or business transformation program
  • Technology leaders inheriting a complex, part-modernised environment
  • Organisations modernising customer journeys across several systems and owners
  • Businesses that need strategy turned into an executable transformation portfolio
  • Boards and executives who need an independent read before committing further investment
03 — WHAT WE DO

Four engagement areas.

Most engagements start with strategy or a roadmap, because that is where the disagreement usually sits. Each area can be bought on its own.

Digital & technology strategy

4 – 8 WKS

Where the business is going, what technology has to do about it, and the target state that follows — expressed in decisions rather than principles.

  • Current state and constraint assessment
  • Target state architecture and capability view
  • Investment themes with expected outcomes
  • Executive alignment on trade-offs

Transformation roadmaps & business cases

4 – 8 WKS

A sequenced plan with the value case attached — what happens first, what it costs, what it returns, and what has to be true for the next stage to start.

  • Initiative sequencing and dependencies
  • Cost, benefit and value case
  • Delivery capacity and resourcing view
  • Stage gates and success measures

Operating model & process redesign

6 – 12 WKS

How the organisation needs to work to sustain the change — accountabilities, decision rights and the processes that carry the customer through.

  • Accountability and decision-rights design
  • End-to-end process redesign
  • Role, capability and structure implications
  • Change and adoption approach

Customer experience transformation

6 – 12 WKS

The journey as the customer experiences it, mapped across the systems and teams behind it, with the friction quantified and prioritised.

  • Journey mapping with operational evidence
  • Friction and cost-to-serve analysis
  • Prioritised experience improvements
  • Measurement and feedback loops
04 — HOW WE WORK

Understand, diagnose, design, mobilise.

A strategy nobody executes is a cost. We spend the early weeks on evidence and alignment so the plan survives its first budget conversation.

STEP 1

Understand

Interviews across leadership, delivery and operations. What has been tried, what is committed, where the money already is.

STEP 2

Diagnose

Separate the constraints that matter from the noise, and put numbers against them. Say plainly what is not working.

STEP 3

Design

Target state and sequence, built with the people who will own it. Decisions documented, including what we chose not to do.

STEP 4

Mobilise

Stand up the first stage — governance, teams, measures — so momentum starts before attention moves on.

05 — WHAT YOU GET

Tangible outputs.

  • A written strategy with the decisions and trade-offs made explicit
  • Target state and capability view
  • Sequenced transformation roadmap with dependencies
  • Business case with cost, benefit and value measures
  • Operating model and accountability design
  • Stage gates and a reporting view executives can use
OUTCOMES WE AIM AT

Changes you can point to.

A portfolio that can be prioritised

Initiatives ranked against outcomes, with the discipline to stop as well as start.

Investment tied to business measures

Each theme carries the number it is meant to move, and how that will be tracked.

Leadership aligned on sequence

Not just the destination — what happens first, and what waits.

A first stage already moving

Mobilisation is part of the work, not a separate program to fund later.

06 — ENGAGEMENT SHAPES

Three ways to start.

Fixed-scope projects, phased engagements or ongoing advisory — depending on the size of the portfolio and how much is already committed.

STRATEGY SPRINT

Fixed scope, 4 – 6 weeks

Interviews, diagnosis and a target state with a sequenced roadmap. Defined deliverable, no commitment beyond it.

FIXED SCOPE
STRATEGY & MOBILISE

Phased, 8 – 16 weeks

Strategy, roadmap and business case, then stand up the first stage of delivery with governance and measures in place.

PHASED, PER STAGE
EXECUTIVE ADVISORY

Ongoing, part time

Independent advisory alongside your program — assurance, sequencing decisions and executive challenge as the portfolio moves.

07 — QUESTIONS

Common questions.

What is the difference between digital strategy and a transformation roadmap?

+

The strategy sets direction — what the business is trying to achieve and what technology has to do about it. The roadmap sequences the work, attaches cost and benefit, and defines what happens first. Most organisations need both, and often have one without the other.

We already have a strategy. Can you just help us execute it?

+

Yes. In that case we usually start with a short diagnostic on sequencing, capacity and governance rather than re-doing the strategy. If the strategy is sound, we say so and move to mobilisation.

How do you avoid producing a deck that sits unused?

+

Mobilisation is part of the engagement. We stand up the first stage — governance, measures and the initial team — while the decisions are still fresh, and we design the roadmap around delivery capacity that actually exists.

Do you work with our existing vendors and system integrators?

+

Yes. Most transformation portfolios already have delivery partners in place. We work alongside them, and can provide independent assurance where you need a view that is not held by the party delivering the work.

Can you deliver the transformation as well as plan it?

+

Yes. Through Technology Delivery & Teams we can take accountability for defined outcomes or provide the specialists your program needs, so the plan does not stall for want of capacity.

Do you work outside Sydney?

+

Yes. Leadership is Sydney-based and works across Australia, with remote engagements run in your time zone.

NEXT STEP

Bring the plan you are unsure about.

Thirty minutes, no pitch deck. We will talk through where the portfolio is stuck and what we would look at first. If we don't think we're the right fit, we'll say so.
